Determination of Knowledge Levels of Nurses Working in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units about Evidence-Based Practices in the Prevention of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia

Objective:The aim of this study was to determine the level knowledge nurses working in Emergency Departments (ED)and Intensive Care Units (ICU)about evidence-based practices prevention ventilator-associated pneumonia(EBP-VAP).
 Materials and Methods:This descriptive,two-center conducted on EDs ICUs two public hospitals city center Malatya.A total 199 who worked ED or ICU for at least one year were included study,on voluntary basis.The data collected by using “Personal Information Form” “Information Evidence-Based Practices Prevention Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia Form”(EBP-VAP).
 Results:The mean age 35.92±6.54,58.8% them females 6.7% undergraduates.The VAP score found be 4.76±1.57.It determined that there a weak positive correlation between ages nurses,their years profession,years emergency room/intensive care unit, their average scores (p
